I love Buena Vista, CO and the surrounding area. I’ve gotten to know it over the last few summers and find it more appealing each time I go. Our latest trip there was for a specific purpose. Our good friends who own CKS Mainstreet run Paddlefest, which is a river festival that supports local search and rescue.

For a first timer I must say, it was a lot of fun. We rafted upon arriving on Saturday and from there went straight to volunteering at the beer tent. A long day, but super fun none the less. Sunday was more fun on the river with a milk run via paddle board. I’m still more of a novice on the paddle board front, but it was still a step in the right direction for me. Plus, everyone swam, so at least I wasn’t the only one.

We finished the weekend on Monday with a few of the guys (+ Teresa) surfing some waves. With my skill level not quite up to par, I was happy to take to the sidelines and take some pics/video. Such a great end to May. Good friends, good weather and good times at BV Paddlefest.
