Taking up a new hobby is always exciting and sometimes terrifying. I recently took an Introduction to Mountain Biking course via REI that was SUPER helpful. Considering I had a rough introduction prior to that; which involved rocks, a bush, and me in a tangle. This course definitely set me up for more success.

A week later I was off to Fruita, CO to check out what their Fat Bike Festival, and trails were all about. I was excited going in and happy to report that I was also happy coming out of it. After a small introduction via a trail called PBR (Pumps, Bumps, and Rollers), it was on to the big leagues. With the following day came Zippity Do Da, which is know for it’s BIG rollers, short hills and  BIG and STEEP decents. I didn’t take many pictures on the trail itself, as I feared for my life, but the trails and views were amazing, trust me. After the ride was done I definitely felt a sense of accomplishment and look forward to my next ride.

With friends from Steamboat, Denver, Durango, and Salida joining in the fun, it was a weekend for the books. Can’t wait for my next biking journey.
